What is the best quote from a speaker at the Reformation of Food and Family Conference?

0

This question is being used in our first giveaway contest.  There were a lot of great speakers at the recent Reformation of Food and Family conference that we attended in San Antonio.  Any quote from any of the speakers at the conference can be entered, even if it's from a book or other speech they gave (it doesn't need to be from a speech at the conference).

Entries must be received by midnight ET Friday, July 27th.  The winner will be identified and announced on Saturday, July 28th, and will be awarded the following prize pack:

  •     One DVD of their choice
  •     One book of their choice

“The most powerful family ritual is the one experience every day: the family meals. …
“The ritual of sitting down to a meal gives children dignity,
Gives structure to the day,
Gives something to hold onto when things are tough.

“In a loving family, it is a refuge from this tough world.
It’s a place to get wisdom, advice, comfort, in our time together,
A place for daily rest.
We stop together, and rest as a family for a significant portion of time.
Relax in what is familiar.
Renew strength.

“Mealtimes should be fixtures of the day. It’s MEAL THERAPY in a time of stress.”
-Chef Francis Foucachon

“There’s SUPPOSED to be a tension between my budget and trying to get healthy foods; this is a good, healthy tension. … But you can’t say, ‘It’s the government’s job (or somebody else’s job) to give me money to buy healthy foods,’ and you can’t say, ‘I can’t afford to buy healthy food.’ You can adjust the choices you’re making.” -Beall Phillips
